  • 8 GB RAM recommended for the on-device LLM sidecar

Installing Cedar

  1. Click the download button above. The .dmg starts downloading from GitHub.
  2. Open the .dmg and drag Cedar to your Applications folder.
  3. Open Cedar from Applications. macOS will ask for permission to use the microphone, calendar, and screen recording — Cedar needs these to capture audio and visuals during meetings.
  4. That's it — no sign-up, no account, no setup. Cedar works out of the box.

Linux and Windows builds are in active development. Cedar is built on Tauri so the cross-platform port is real engineering work in progress, not a "someday" item.
