Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

1. Introduction

Coniferous LLC ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit meetcedar.app or use our desktop application, Cedar.

Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access our services.

2. The Short Version

Today, Cedar is local-first. Your meeting audio, captured frames, transcripts, and notes stay on your computer unless you opt into a feature that uses the cloud. Planned Pro features will use cloud services — every such feature will be off by default and clearly described before activation.

We do not collect or transmit your meeting audio.

We do not collect or transmit your captured screen frames.

We do not collect or transmit your transcripts or notes.

Cedar does not require an account today.

Visiting this website is recorded by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) the same way every Cloudflare-hosted site is — IP, user agent, request path. We do not set tracking cookies.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 The Desktop App

Today, Cedar runs entirely on your computer for core recording, transcription, screen capture, OCR, and note-taking. We do not have access to your microphone audio, captured frames, transcripts, notes, calendar, or any file on your device. Nothing produced by these core features is transmitted to our servers.

Cedar uses the system Calendar API (with your permission) to show upcoming meetings. Calendar data stays on your computer.

Future Pro features will use cloud services (for example, a cloud-hosted AI agent or cross-device memo sync). Each will be opt-in and accompanied by an in-app description of what data is sent where before you turn it on.

When Cedar checks for updates it contacts our update endpoint (or GitHub Releases) to ask "is there a newer version?" — the request includes your installed Cedar version and your operating system version. It does not include any personal information.

3.2 The Website

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically records standard request metadata when you visit meetcedar.app: IP address, user agent string, the page you requested, and the referrer that brought you there. We use this only to understand site usage and to defend against abuse. We do not set tracking cookies and we do not embed third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

When you click a download link, the request is proxied through our Cloudflare Worker to a private GitHub release. The Worker logs the platform you downloaded but nothing that identifies you personally.

4. How We Use Information

Serve the website and the Cedar download.

Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats.

Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks. We do not build profiles of individual visitors.

5. Third-Party Services

The website is hosted on Cloudflare. The Cedar download is served from GitHub Releases via our Cloudflare Worker. Those providers' own privacy practices apply to the data they collect (e.g. IP-level abuse logs).

6. Data Retention

We retain server request logs for as long as our hosting provider retains them (typically 30 days). We retain no other personal information on our servers.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Because Cedar does not require an account and does not transmit your meeting data, the personal information we hold is limited to what's described in Section 3.2 above. Contact us at the address below to exercise any of these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

Cedar is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy with a new "Last updated" date.
